Bandit Gives Up to Paper MONTREAL, Que., May 3 UP .—A love-smitten bandit, sought by police for a week in a ,000 bank holdup, walked into a newspaper office today and gave himself up. Nick Cooper, 22, told Montreal Herald reporters he had escaped police and gone to New York City, but decided to return because he loved 19-year-old Elaine Masters, attractive Montreal brunette. He handed over ,000 in cash to the Herald, part of the loot of a four-man stickup at a Royal Bank of Canada branch.. Coopers companions were captured. , . ,
