Irish and Penn Will Renew Football Rivalry in 1952 PHILADELPHIA, Pa., May 3 UP.— The University of Pennsylvania and Notre Dame will" renew football rivalry in 1952, it was announced today. The two teams will clash at Franklin Field in Philadelphia on September 27 to open the 1952 season for both schools. It will be their third meeting. Dr. E. LcRoy Mercer, deans of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at Penn, said arrangements for the meeting were completed today. Notre Dame defeated Penn on botli previous meetings. The biggest football crowd ever to jam Franklin Field saw the fighting Irish beat Penn 60 to 20 in 1930. The following year Notre Dame trounced the Quakers 49-0 at South Bend.
