Two Newcomers on Staff Of Officials at Beulah Daingerfield, Wingfield to Serve At Meeting Opening on Saturday COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 3— Beulah Park raises the curtain on the Ohio racing season Saturday when its 20-day spring meeting of thoroughbred events gets under way. On opening day, as well as on all other Saturdays and Memorial Day, the post time for the first race will be 2:15 p. m. Twilight racing is scheduled for all other days of the meeting, starting at 4:00 p. m. daily. Beulah will suspend operations for one day during its spring season, no racing being scheduled for Monday, May 8. Hence, the first twilight program is set for Tuesday, May 9. The top event of the first days racing will be the running of the Inaugural, six-furlong allowance test for three-year-olds and upward. Up for decision Saturday, May 20, will be the eleventh running of the Governors Handicap. Newcomers to Beulahs family of officials — but by no means newcomers to the sport — are Keene Daingerfield, steward, and G. R. "Buddy" Wingfield, starter. • Daingerfield is also a steward at Keene-land and Narragansett and hes secretary of the Kentucky Sfate Racing Commission. Wingfield has been dispatching the thor oughbreds for the past 30 years. He also is starter at Tropical Park, Hollywood Park and Narragansett. "Buddy" had the distinction of starting two of turfdoms most famous match races — Clang vs. Myrtlewood at Coney Island now River Downs in 1935, and Alsab vs. Whirlaway at Narragansett in 1942.
