Hollywood Park Completes New Clubhouse Expansion HOLLYWOOD PARK, Inglewood. Calif., May 5. — Completion of a three-year, million-dollar clubhouse expansion project in time for the opening of Hollywood Parks thoroughbred race meeting Thursday was announced today, by Vice President and General Manager James D. Stewart. With the expanded facilities the track now has a seating capacity of approximately 29,000. The final stage of the project included extending the fire-proof steel grandstand roof 160 feet southward over the clubhouse section, addition of 1,700 theatre type seats on the third clubhouse level, installation of twin escalators to the new third floor and opening of new roof garden and refreshment areas. The work, started in 1956, was done in three stages with the clubhouse being raised one floor each year, since the staging of the Western Harness Racing Association meeting each fall and the California International Flower Show each March at Hollywood Park prevented an .extended period; of construction.
