SCYLAX went to the front at ence and entered the stretch with a long lead, swerved during .the last sixteenth but reached the finish with a short advantage, then was disqualified for failing to keep a straight course and placed second. METRIC, never far back, was checked when SCYLAX- drifted through the last sixteenth mile and then closed strongly when clear but could not overtake the latter, although easily best of the others. ELECTION, in hand to the stretch, was unable to threaten the leaders when set down in the drive. CONNIE STELLA saved ground while improving her position to the stretch but had nothing left for the drive. FRALUXE was never prominent CONNIES PAL had early speed but failed to. stay.
