Juvenile Fillies Eye Balmoral Dash List 41 Youngsters on Miss Chicago Roster; 25 Already Have Started; 1 3 Have Won HOMEWOOD, 111., May 5. — Balmoral Jockey Club will open its 1958 spring meeting at Washington Park next Monday with the winningest band of two-year-old fillies in the history of the spring meeting. Opening day headliner is the 5,000 added Miss Chicago Stakes, and in this fourth running of the 5-furlong sprint no less than 25 of the 4! nominees already have started and 13 already have won 23 races among them. Among the 13 winners are three who are undefeated in two starts: Denrit Stables Sugar Madison, trained by John Hartigan: , North Star Ranchs Dark Vintage, trained by E. B. Carpenter, and John H. Clarks Heart Flush, trained by C. W. Clark. L. C. Wilson and Doug Davis Jr.s Pattys Choice has won five races, having accounted for the Debutante on the Derby Day card at Churchill Downs". He suffered his lone defeat at Churchill on April 28 after wining four in a row. H. H. Mundys Blue Mam is another consistent sort, having four tallies to her credit. Little Kid Named The Miss Chicago roster also includes the two place horses in Gulfstream Parks two divisions of the Singing Tower Stakes: Kennedy-Veale Stables Little Kid, and Carl Weinheimers Fifinella Miss. Both also have registered wins in their first racing campaigns. Also listed among the nominees is a half-sister to Idun, the 1957 two-year-old American filly queen and. all-time money-winning filly champion. She is Endearment, an Alibhai— Tige O* Myheart offspring, owned by Mrs. James" Dunham. All three past winners of the Miss Chicago — Waikiki, Delmar and Hasty Doll — went on to better things in the two-year-old filly divisions "of their years. Waikiki and Hasty Doll finished third in their runnings of the rich Arlington Lassie, with Hasty Doll upsetting Poly-Hi, Margaretta and others while winning the equally-lucrative Princess Pat. . Of the 41 Miss Chicago nominees, 20 are also eligible for both the Lassie and Princess Pat, to be run later in the summer at Arlington Park. They include Tag-and Tow. Fifinella. Miss, Marje Everett, Jackie Price, Blue Mam, Dark Vintage, Roman Honey, Sybil Brand, Act Now, Galla Galla. Brite Sprite. Little Kid, La Com-parsita.
