Jackies Comet Sprints To Five-Length Victory Pieri Racer Downs Charlies Boy and Kelkata at Lincoln By TEDDY COX LINCOLN DOWNS, Lincoln, P. I., May 5. — Sports entrepeneur Lou Pieri saw his racing silks flash to a spectacular triumph when his Little Rhody Farm banner was carried by Jackies Comet in the Old Stone Mill Purse here this dreary afternoon. The three-year-old son of Teddys Comet — Selenga H., by Tourbillon, was cleverly ridden by Ronnie Fisher, who bided his time until approaching the stretch, when .he moved "with a flourish. Jackies Comet provided enough spark to score by five lengths. W. W. Carrolls Charlie Boy was second, one and a half lengths in front of W. H. Jackies Comet, who last competed against the very best- sophomores on the grounds, was backed into .40-for- favoritism and gave his followers little reason for concern. His time over the muddy track for the 5 furlongs was 1:00%. It was his second victory of the year.
