DANCING MARGOT displayed high speed from the beginning while racing straight, withstood determined opposition entering the final furlong and drew clear. MOTHER was well up from the beginning, but hung at the finish. CONNIVER, on the outside, faltered in the final furlong. GOOD EXAMPLE and PUFF OF SMOKE were bothered slightly by the riderless SPRING THAW. ANTIGONE showed a good effort. STAGE MOTHER raced well. LARK faltered in the late stages. The latter was steadied along in the running, improved his position when urged and finished well. CHANCE THREAD had early speed, then faltered. AFREET finished with good courage on the inside. ISATIN was on the inside and raced well. AMLICK lacked early speed. NEWSPRINT could not keep up. REMEMBER US had a flash of early speed. PEACE HARBOR was quick to begin, showed early speed and had no mishap. NOBLE CREEK was kept forwardly all the way and had no mishap. BASTOGNE finished well and had no excuse. GLAD TIME forced the pace from the beginning, shook off DANDY SANDY in the stretch and held RICH MIXTURE safe. The latter was well up from the beginning, was sent to the outside for the stretch run, but could not menace the winner. DANDY SANDY faltered in the stretch, but outlasted RAY OSULLIVAN. The latter reared at the start, worked his way up on the outside and closed well. BLUE FALCON was under urging from the beginning and made up some ground on the outside. ASSAULT stumbled at the start but recovered quickly, was sent up on the inside, was steadied along to the far turn, where he began to improve his position, came to the outside for the stretch run, swerved slightly, disposed of the leaders and drew away. NATCHEZ bore out slightly rounding the far turn, was straightened out, moved up entering the stretch turn, assumed command, but could not stave off the winner. CABLE was steadied along, was well up under pressure in the stretch run and closed with good courage. HAMPDEN was sent into command after the first quarter, was steadied along and had no mishap. LORD BOSWELL was taken under steady restraint in the early running, improved his position going to the far turn, but flattened out when placed under pressure in the final furlong. MAHOUT was unable to improve his position in the stretch run. WAR WATCH raced evenly and was never a formidable factor. BLUE PAL was outrun in the early stages, but moved up fast going to the stretch turn, came to the outside and finished with a rush. TERSE forced a fast early pace, saved ground and held on well BELLWETHER, under pressure in the stretch run, finished well. SEA FARE made a determined bid entering the stretch, then hung. MAGNETIC STAR was sent up fast after rounding the stretch turn, then faltered. FEBRIDGE began slowly. CUBAN BOMB quit. SEGULA and FLYING TARTAR quit badly. PROOF COIL was kept forwardly placed from the beginning and, under pressure in the stretch, finished with good courage to dispose of THIRTEEN in the final drive. The latter was eased back of the pace, moved up on the outside when straightened out m the final furlong, but hung after getting to the leader.
