I OZZIE — The longer the distance the better for this cheap plater. Is coming up to a race in fine form and will be running i when the others are crying uncle. LETTER V— Tired after showing some fine speed the other day. Wait until this . one is dropped down slightly. Can either sprint or go a distance. . SLY TIGRESS — Dashed out to the front and appeared ready to run away and hide from her rivals in her debut. Next j time against the same kind it wont be close. BOURBON FLIER— Didnt run best race 1 the other day. Tired badly as if in need of further conditioning and education. ] May come up for a greatly improved effort. MAIHIGH — Showed an even race against 1 High Baggage the other day. If you want an edge the best of it, wait for mud. 1 TUTELO— Was the victim of a listless ride the other day. Catch this one against the same kind next time out. DONNA BRAND— Mud moved this miss up ] several lengths and she would prefer not to meet such as Rock wood Lou. Mighty sharp at the present time. GOLDEN CROSS— Here is a ,500 claimer j who showed indications of returning to his best form the other day. Very sharp for a winning race. KAYS LOVE— Keep an eye peeled for this two-year-old. She will find the right spots before the meeting ends and may lead all the way. BIG CASINO— One of the finest looking two-year-olds on the grounds. This Dix-iana colt is sharp enough to beat some of the best on the grounds. Tab. IN SILVER — Was poorly ridden from his : No. 1 post position in recent start. The gray gelding is in fine fettle and is quite capable of winning against ,000 sprinters. BLUE SEAL— Burley Parke has this John Marsch colt all set to earn brackets at this meeting. Hes a flash out of the gate and it wont be close against maidens. BULL WAGON— This son of Crossbow II. — Syls Betty is a likely looking sort who will stand a lot of beating against maiden two-year-olds. Showed a fine performance recently. By H. J. McGuire Det FLYING JENNY— Shifty two-year-old filly displayed high speed in last start but was trifle short. HEYDAY— Maiden three-year-old turned in a pair of sharp efforts here and is due for early graduation. STIPPLER— Ran excellent race on turf course behind Roncat and this gray gelding may annex purse when sent back over the grass. IMAGE OF LOVE— Two-year-old maiden gave smart account of himself in only appearance under silks and he is in top condition. TIGER MAN— Rounding to peak form and . he will be dangerous when matched with i the better three-year-olds. HERES HARVEY— Ordinary plater finished strongly behind Distant Isle and he i probably will visit winners circle after meeting ,500 sprinters. HARV AETHEL— Rough trip when beaten by Yankee Notions and he is capable of ■ defeating same class field at six furlongs. JUST FLIP — Manner in which she won in j only Detroit start was such that she must ; be regarded as dangerous against top three-year-olds. ASK ME — Raced well in the Olds Purse and 1 he is expected to improve off that effort. Prefers fast track and one mile and sixteenth. SWEET RYTHM— Raced greenly in only , start here and she has turned in some . speedy morning trials. Eligible to three-year-old maiden race. PLAY HANDS— Chance Play mare always i races consistently and she is partial to the ; Fair Grounds course. HELENS BOY— Closed stoutly behind I Bradwin and he is expected to improve ? off that performance. Belongs with ,500 routers. PASSAGEWAY— Recent works suggests 5 that this sprinter should soon annex a i purse and can handle muddy or dry racing 5 strip. That effort can be thrown out. C NOTEWORTHY— This one was bothered in last start and eliminated from contention. £ NO CALL— A bad post actor but is capable of upsetting calculations in own classification. BEST DRESS — Has a nice turn of speed £ and is about ready for a good effort. PUKKA GIN — Began slowly and was outrun in last start, but finished well. DIVINIO — Went well last time out and - should show improvement over that. BURNING DREAM— Finished with a rush from alow beginning last out. This one is ready. I PRECIOUS YEARS — This one may find a spot in a distance race here. Tab for a long route effort. I KAY GIBSON — Will show improvement over last effort in the near future. PRISTINE — Closed ground steadily on the inside last out and is ready. 1 By A. E. Brown Suf HY-GAY — Ralph Lentini has his charge ready for the winners share as evidenced by his good showing in the only start since last fall. FOGOSO — An aging campaigner who is ] rounding to form and will make his presence felt when pitted against cheap sprinters. * BETTY QUEEN— This daughter of King Cole is greatly improved and in winning form. Figures to give battle to the best of her sex stabled here. CHEVALIER, — May have needed his last in which he was installed favorite over good sprinters. I VALDINA VICAR— Served notice that a | winning performance is on tap by his recent second to Blenweed. Is capable of handling a good hand of routers. LEATHER BOUND— A change in equipment will aid this filly keep her mind on ; running. Early graduation from the non-winners ranks is apparent. BILLY PERRY— Bad racing luck denied this one the opportunity of annexing brackets in his only local appearance. | Tab for early victory. GREEN GARDEN— A fleet filly that has been tossing off what looked like sure victory in the late stages of her recent tries. Will hang on long enough when dropped slightly in class. PAY ME— Is a fit colt right now. Should win right back against a classy field of three-year-olds over a distance of ground. SILVER SWEEP— A promising juvenile that has been catching the eye of the split-second brigade. May score at first asking. TIGER CALL— Retains his high turn of speed. Needs only astute placing to get back in winning form. ROGUISH SHOT— This one went to a new barn after showing a promising effort in her local debut. May win herself out at the first attempt. WHERRIE — Scored so impressively in her last that it is impossible to overlook this one when meeting the same class of routers. IRON PENNY— Trainer George Alexandra has this one ready for a winning effort. Needs only capable handling to turn back a better-than-average band of three-year-olds. By E. P. Heagerty Del CHERRY POP— This filly was never better than at present. Seems to favor the loca track. BOUNDING BOW— Should win a race against class "E" company. Has shown signs of rounding into top form. MISCHIEVIOUS— Has an abundance of early speed and should earn graduation papers when placed in a race for maiden three-year-old fillies. WEJACK — Trials and lone Delaware race have been very good. Rates call against maidens. TAGEL— Was no match for True North at six furlongs. Will be placed a bit more favorably next time. SKEAN — Needs only repeat last race to be first past the judges next time out. LAS VEGAS — Not too much class here, but a possibility when entered in a race for class "F" sprinters. LARAN — Impresses as a juvenile likely to i go well when stretched out to six fur- longs and more. DIATRIBE — Was away poorly in his only fast track race. Should win a purse if ! fortunate enough to escape rain. SMILING LASS — Showed a good race I when beaten by Pharaday in a photo i finish. Best suited with fillies and mares. SWING SHIFT— Has been lightly cam- paigned this season, with most recent t race being the most impressive. THE SHAKER — Forget this good three-year-olds • last race. Was stunned with i he reared up in the starting gate. HARFORD — Has been brought along gradually . and appears to have attained peak : form. Can do better than recent races. ] PURITAN MAID— Still sticking with her to round to form and knock out a few wins before the close of the local meeting. GLADACRES MARY— Has been closing ground in recent races. Should earn her | keep the next time she goes postward. SUNCO— Practically left at the post the • first time he faced the starter. Should show marked improvement over that race. SPANISH BELLE— Getting her ready for a distance race. Is getting sharp and can win at any distance up to a mile and a half. VINITA MARSHAL — Connections have ] been running him above his head. Look for them to drop this speedster down a ] few notches. ] BLACK BEGGAR, — A speedy fellow who should take a liking to the five and one-half furlongs race offered here. I DRAKE — Seldom misses copping a heat i here. GANADO — Could take care of a fair band of allowance horses should he learn to leave the starting gate with his field. ROLLS DAY — Ready at the first asking. 1 Can handle any kind of track. WINNEBAGO — Another with a preference for a soft racing strip. Closes fast and should leave the ranks of non-winners ] as soon as his connections drop him in ] a distance affair. FIELD dOR — Workouts are excellent and may surprise before the close cf the meeting. This grey one has oodles of ] early foot. TOMLUTA — Coming to a winning race. ! Last one should serve as a tightener. DEEP RED — Came up a good thing the j middle of last week. The next time out should be the day. By W. C. Phillip~s~Oma LOOKOUT BLOND — One of the top sprinters here, was a victim of bad racing luck when forced back in her last attempt. Will make amends at the first opportunity. BLUE FAWN — Is not troubled this year by the soreness that plagued her last season. Has already beaten top sprinters here twice and will continue her winning ways. PHANTOM LADY — Has had a sprint race for a conditioner. Is most dangerous when going a distance of ground with horses on which she can steal a long lead. MISSY MISS— Was not ready for her fust engagement in which she surprised stable connections by her good performance. Will improve in her next race. RECALLING — Needs to go a longer distance than her races so far this spring. Over an "off" racing strip is capable of showing the way to the best. ZANGERMAN — Swift sprinter is at his best when he can steal a long lead over a sloppy or muddy track. If conditions are right may pay off in "China." ANNA TINO — Speedy mare was not right in her last efforts. Should outsprint cheap opposition. SWINGY WINGY— Is capable of a much better effort than his first performance. Will also improve over a route. GRADOS LAST — Nebraska -bred plater showed that he was rounding into form from his last race. Will run to better advantage next time. MR. RABBIT — Needed his first outing in which he began rather sluggishly and finished fast. Possesses a world of lick and will be hard to head in his next. VALDINA SUN— Will improve off his first race here. May score against better ones at a price. NEGO ELE — Will be difficult to stop when I he is given a longer distance than in his l first engagement, in which he was a fast-finishing second at five and one-half furlongs. NAMUR — One of the best handicap performers • here last year, he has already shown his sharpness by finishing second I in a distance handicap. Is outstanding I over a muddy track. By W. A. Cruse Ran IRISH ROGUE — Graduated from the maiden ranks recently and appears capable and ready to win another. HARD JESTER — Should have won last outing. May be in the winners circle at next asking. SEA AGAIN — A recent dead heat in a sprint should have this one sharpened for another winning effort in the near future. SAUCY ANN — Not too much class but recent trials are evidence of fitness. WILDEBEEST — An ordinary sort who needs only to be placed in the right spot to turn in a winning effort. MISS DEFIANCE— Off slowly in last try and closed gamely. Should show to better advantage over a route. HAY VOY — Morning trials indicate that this two-year-old is training well. GOLDEN MEDIA— Was short in last two attempts. Improving steadily and will do better in the very near future. MISS EVIDENCE— Victim of a slow start in last encounter. Considered as one of the better three-year-olds on the grounds and will be a sharp factor in any event. BUDDIE GENERAL — Continues to show speed but has been running in tough luck. Will be in the right spot soon. 1 ] ] INFINOTTO— In close quarters in most recent effort. Needs only the right spot and a strong-armed pilot to return a winner. RUNNING CEDAR — Has been flashing early speed against an ordinary field of sprinters. BOLD DANDY— This youngster had plenty of early foot in first outing. Experience will help this one to turn in a winning effort in the very near future.
