Ries Optioned to Minors CINCINNATI, Ohio. May 1 UP.— In-fielder Robert "Whitey" Ries, a 20-year-old bonus player, was a Cincinnati Red for a few minutes today. He was obtained from the Boston Braves on waivers and immediately optioned to the Reds Charleston club of the Central League.
