NOTES OF THE TURF. Tulsa. Okla., will have a ten-days meeting be ginning July 12. August Belmonts Practical, the brother to Pris-cillian, does, not appear to be of much racing use. Jockey Pendergast has been Indefinitely suspended at Oklahoma City for an unsatisfactory ride on Convenient. 1!. Jacobs and jockey Lee have gone to Fort Erie from Latonia. Lee probably will ride Marse Abe in the Canadian Derby tomorrow. . Hathaway, a three-year-old bay colt, bv Skilful Sister Fanny, died at Oklahoma City recently. It is alleged that the horse was maliciously poisoned. L. C. Shobe lias turned Centre Shot and Cloisteress over to James Johnson, who will train them in the future. Johnson will make jockey Musgraves engagements at Fort Erie. W. P. Reed and Henry Flippen have arranged to ship their horses from Sheepshead lias- to Fort Erie today. Reed purchased Lady Chilton and a couple of two-year-olds from Robert Walden at the close of the meeting at Pimlico. David Jackson, an English breeder in a small way, bought Darkle, a blind mare and the dam of the English crack colt. Dark Ronald, for 40 and sold her for .25. Darkle is a black mare by Tlmrio Insignia and twenty years old. "Roots" Durnell is a daily visitor at Sheepshead Bay. He. has no horses now and is said to have lost all connection with the management of jockey Dugan. whom he developed. Darnells former patron, John W. Gates, has not been seen on the New York tracks this year. English advices say that J. B. Joel recently refused an offer of 75,000 for the four-year-old. Your .Majesty, by Persimmon Yours, which was the chief winner on the English turf last year with a total of ;.430. The offer is said to have been made by a French owner. Henry McDaniel. trainer for R. L. Thomas, and F. !. Hogan have shipped a carload of yearlings purchased at the Sheepshead Bay sales, to Paris. Ky. While the bidding on yearlings has been spirited since the annual sales commenced. McDaniel had the last say on almost every colt and filly lie went after. He secured several youngsters of superior individuality, notably the chestnut son of The Commoner and Rene.
