CANADIAN TURF NOTES f $ g TORONTO, Ont., June 3. Tommy Gorman came down from Ottawa to confer with Gene Bury regarding the allotment of stalls to horsemen who intend shipping to Connaught Park. Gorman is quite enthusiastic over the outlook for the meeting and predicts one of the most successful ones in the history of racing at the Hull track. There are already some seventy-five horses on the grounds that were shipped direct from New York to Connaught Park. A. G. Weston announced that at the conclusion of the Long Branch meeting he would ship his stable to Hamilton. Jopagan, ♦he star of the Weston string, is going along nicely and will be seen with the colors up, probably at Fort Erie. Secretary Norvell is well pleased with the responses of the horsemen to the Hon. Forbes Godfrey and Racing Form Handicaps, to be run at Long Branch on Wednesday and Saturday next. Entries to both of these races close on Monday. John Turner, who has been engaged to act as racing secretary at Hamilton, is taking applications for stalls at that course. At the conclusion of the Blue Bonnets meeting, Turner will make a hurried departure for Hamilton to take entries for the opening day at that meeting.
