ANNEX, under a hustling ride, raced forwardly on the outside in the better going; to the stretch, wors down the leader and outstayed LADY LOUISE. The latter dropped back at the start and was outpaced to the stretch, then came fast and outfinished the tiring MOTHERS CHOICE. The latter began fast, showed the most speed to the stretch, but began swerving and tired through the final eighth. PATTI LOUISE raced well, but could not improve her position. BOURBON, far back to the stretch turn, came to the outside, closed much ground under strong riding and, wearing down the leaders, won going away. BLACK DARLING showed the most early speed and. racing on the inside, came wide in the stretch and, roughing CHARMING LADY, held on gamely. SON AMI raced forwardly, saved ground, but began tiring in the final drive. THE RUNT could never get up and suffered much from crowding on the back stretch. CHARMING LADY showed much early speed and forced the pace, but tired when carried wide in the stretch. CONFIDENTIAL, close up until after the far turn, finished fast and won In a canter. ATHENS, fat out of it for three-quarters, gained much ground thereafter and outfinished SUNNY PORT. The latte* ran well on the outside, saved much ground in the stretch and got up to outgame RED ROBE. Thsj latter, a factor to the stretch, took the lead from ACNES WYNN, but tired in the final three-sixteenths, AGNES WYNN was done in the stretch after setting the early pace. BRIGAND quit. KNIGHT COMMANDER moved into a good lead, set Hie pace to the stretch, but tired badly in the final sixteenth and barely lasted to win. LIEUT. RUSSELL, outrun to the stretch, closed a big gup. getting up to nose out SPOUTING LADY in the final strides. SPORTING LADY raced well, forced the pace to the stretch, but tired and was bearing out badly at the end. HERADE also ran well to the stretch, had no excuses and tired. BLESSINGS threw her rider at the post, ran away riderless for nearly three miles before being caught, then was withdrawn and did not start. LUCKY DRIFT, close up throughout, took a good lead when entering the stretch, continued gamely, but was no match for the winner. MARABOU raced forwardly on the inside, was pinched back several times and tired. EFHESIAN closed up much ground. SUN SWEEPER set the early pace and raced well for the first three-quarters, then quit.
