TURN OVER opened up a good lead quickly, saved ground after the first eighth and, after being headed, responded to a severe shaking up and overhauled PRINCE BULBO In the final seventy yards.. The latter, a factor from the start, raced into a brief lead after reaching the stretch, but tired badly near the end. CRESTWOOD raced wide after the first quarter and held on fairly well. CHELYS. crowded back shortly after the start, found racing room on the inside after reaching the turn and, racing into the lead with a rush, moved into decisive command after reaching the stretch and won easily. VERMICULITE was taken back repeatedly in the early stages, but finished fast. DONORA had speed from the start, bore out on the turn and tired after a half mile. ROYAL OMAR moved up fast after the start, followed the pacemaker under restraint to the stretch, where he headed HIGH STORM and then outstayed him in a long drive. HIGH STORM, sent into the lead at once, set a good pace and saved ground on the turns and held on stubbornly, but was cuffinished. BLACK THUNDER raced well and held on gamely. CONGO II. suffered from interference in the first quarter and, after racing far back to the stretch, gained some ground. FARGO had a rough race. NEVER BUST had early speed. DARK ANfiEL, hard ridden to keep up in the early stages, gamely wore down MARIA NASH for the lead after reaching the stretch, then, benefitted extensively by forcing back MARIA NASH and COLORATURA when she swerved in the final eighth, won drawing aawy. COLORATUKA worked her way up gradually, but was forced back abruptly by the winner in the final eighth. MAHY McCLAIN finished fast. MARIA NASH had the most speed from the start and was tiring when impeded by the winner in the stretch, but might have outstayed MARY McCLAIN. MISS LEE had brief early speed. JOCK followed in closest pursuit of the pacemaker under steady restraint, responded well when ready after reaching the stretch and. despite swerving after taking the lead, withstood the challenge of BROADSIDE and EASTER STOCKINGS. BROADSIDE, away in a tangle and far back for five-eighths, worked his way up gradually thereafter and finished fast while racing wide the final three-sixteenths. EASTER STOCKINGS, a forward factor throughout, held on resolutely and finished in close quarters. MARTINIQUE made a fast pace to the stretch, where she tired when crowded back by the winner.
