LONG BRANCH INAUGURAL Racing Form Handicap Stellar Attraction of Opening Program at Canadian Course. TORONTO, Ont., June 4. — With the racing scene moving to Long Branch today, it is a splendid program racing secretary Wash Nor-vell has arranged for the inaugural. Seven well-filled races comprise the card, with the Racing Form Handicap, over one mile and a sixteenth, occupying the premier position. Six have been named in the opening day feature, the Seagram Stable being represented by the sterling Canadian-bred Beau of the West Grier of Spain will carry the silks of Mrs. H. Dattner, the Ascot Stable will rely on Light "View, and the recent winner, Rockslide, is the hope of F. Hayes. E. R. Moorhouse has named Banton, while Sun Persian completes the field. The six other races have attracted fields that should be productive of close and stirring contests. There should be no shortage of jockeys as such riders as Earl Taylor, Gordon Arnold, Joe Thomas, M. Mitchell. N. Foden, H. Little, M. Mergler, G. Seabo, G. Zateslo, J. Pevic, F. Dainty, N. Fouhy, J. Convey, H. Hughes, C. Carlisle, J. Jones and J. Stevens have been granted permission to ride. An innovation is the new head numbers, the invention of judge P. E. Callen. These do away with the use of the arm number on the riders. The number is attached to the lo: p of the brow band, is held securely at the side of the horses head in such a position that the number is prominently displayed, making it easy for the judges to determine the position of the horses as they pass the finish line. The following officials have been appointed for the meeting : Stewards, W. R. Norvell, J. A. Evans, M. N. Macfarlan and W. A. Hewitt. Judge, P. E. Callen. Starter, George Palmer. Clerk of the scales, B. Jacobs. Patrol judge, W. D. Kelly. Paddock judge, E. W. Moore, and timer, R. W. Hewitson.
