Gene Berry stopped over at- Thorncliffe on his way from Columbus, Ohio, to Montreal, where he will officiate as racing secretary of the meeting to be given at Delorimier Park, which is scheduled to begin on Saturday. The latest additions to starter Cassidys schooling list include Bold Bendigo, Upset and The Orleanian. Fred Fox received an addition to the stable he is racing on the Canadian circuit in three horses, the property of M. J. Reilly of Grosse Point, Mich. Fox plans to ship to Connaught Park at the conclusion of the Woodbine meeting. Malcolm N. MacFarlane, racing secretary and judge at Thorncliffe, will be one of the officials at Dufferin Park, Long Branch and Kenilworth. Paul J. Miles got in from Maryland with the horses he will campaign in Canada this summer. Jockey L. Wilson was an arrival from Maryland. He came on to ride for the J. E. Smallman stable. The entry of the plater Al Kripp has been ordered refused until the ownership of the horse is straightened out. At the conclusion of the races at Thorncliffe on Wednesday W. J. Norton, trainer of the Eastland Farms Stable, and Marshall Cassidy will fly from the infield at Thorncliffe to New York in John Hay Whitneys amphibian plane. Norton will continue from New York to the Whitney farm at Middleburg, Va. He will return to Toronto in time for the opening of the Woodbine meeting. The suspension imposed on pockey A. Mc-Kechnie having expired with the close of the Jamaica meeting, the lad was granted a license by the C. R. A. and he had his first mount when he rode Runanwin in the opening race.
