CLOUDY, close up from the start, shook off the others on the far turn and held the race safe thereafter. THE PADRE acted badly at the post, unseating his rider twice, but showed good speed and held the others safe. SWEEP-NET finished resolutely on the outside in the stretch. TIN HAT raced evenly. MARGE COLLINS showed early speed, but tired badly. THISTLE JEAN closed much ground. MAC MAXIM acted badly at the post, closed resolutely on the inside in the stretch and finished fast. FAIRYMAN had no excuses and ..as tiring. NEVERMORE closed ground while racing on the outside. DUN PAST began fast, but was outrun and could not get up. ESPLANADE and DECLINE showed early speed. The others were outpaced. BRAINS closed a gap in the last half. STAMPDALE improved his position while saving ground in the last quarter. MAYES LUTZ and BABOO raced well until the stretch, then tired. SOUTHLAND TOY ran away half a mile before the start, then quit badlv after going well to the far turn.
