RUNANWIN, starting fast, drew away in the first sixteenth and hung gamely under a drive, outlasting DARK THORN. The latter moved up resolutely on the far turn and fought it out gamely with the winner. HIGH BORN saved ground on the stretch turn, but could not get up. LADY NORRIS tired. JOE DAYTCH, close up from the start, came through on the inside entering the stretch and, finishing gamely, wore down MY OLD ROSE and was up right at the end. MY OLD ROSE began fast, raced ROSELYS into defeat on the far turn, then hung on well until the last twenty yards. FAIR SPEED gained steadily after starting slowly. TRAUMAGNE closed strongly. LORD CARDIGAN, messed about early, was taken to the outside on the stretch turn and closed resolutely. ROSE LADY tired in the last sixteenth. TIPSY was close up all the way. BLOOMTIP pulled up lame. THISTLE COOT, slow to get going, moved up after half a mile, raced ELEUSAGON into defeat, but was unable to get up. ELEUSAGON, away well, set a fast pace for three quarters, but tired when challenged. FORBIS made up ground. THYMON showed a dull performance. BLACK FRIAR showed early speed, but tired badly.
