Hinphy to his second victoiy here when he accounted for the Thistle Down Purse, the fifth and feature race at Bainbridge Park this afternoon. I. Collins Vacation, and G. Porters Colonel divided the minor portions of the purse, finishing in this order. The mile was run l:393i. a creditable effort. Crash was a pronounced choice, and his victory was popular. Jockey R. Mozer sent Crash to the front once. He was closely followed by Harass and Crushed Stone for the first half mile, but thereafter drew away into a clear lead which he maintained throughout. Vacation made his move on the far turn, moving up fast next to the inner rail, and held the others safe in the last quarter. Colonel K., saving ground in the stretch, outlasted Morocco in the final drive. Harass and Crushed Stone both tired badly and ceased to be factors after going half the distance. The sport was staged under favorable con-I ditions. The weather was ideal, the track at its best and the attendance good. The racing provided was decidedly interesting. Opening up an easy lead after making the far turn in the opening race, The Padre drew away in decisive fashion during the stretch run, winning with much to spare. Top Cloud, never far from the leaders, raced past the others into second place handily in the final furlong. It was only in the last few yards that Sun Dance secured the minor award from Autumn Bloom after the latter had displayed much early speed. Showing a wonderful burst of speed while on the turn for home, Burning Glass raced into the lead a furlong out in the second race. He was never in trouble thereafter, winning by a half length, but apparently with something to spare. Euphrates finished steadily on the outside during the last half mile and eventually disposed of the others rather handily. It was only after a drive that Alma Vita saved third from Enthusiastic, which worked his way up on the inside in the stretch. Hula was in close quarters practically throughout and did not run to her best form. Gene Lutz saddled the winner of the third race in Miss N. Conlan, which won handily after overhauling the flying pacemaker. Esplanade, inside the final furlong post. Cold Wave came with a rush in the last hundred yards, forcing Esplanade to his best effort to save second after a hard drive. Cotton Time showed an impressive performance, gaining much ground. Baby Bane was the disappointment of the race, was well backed, but was never a serious factor. Taking command at once. Sawdust carried the others along at a fast pace until midway in the stretch in the fourth race, when she began to tire, and bore out. permitting Perkins to move into the lead next the inner rail. Despite this advantage Perkins barely lasted to score by the shortest of margins from Nisia, which came fast and gamely on the outside in the last sixteenth. Sawdust secured the minor award from Long Run. which saved much ground in the last quarter. Germaine Chauvelot ran below her best form. She raced on the outside all the way. and could never get to the leaders. Little Toots displayed early speed, but tired rapidly in the stretch. •
