LONG BRANCH INAUGURAL Everything in Readiness for Seveii Days of Racing at Beautiful Toronto Track. TORONTO, Ont., June 2— After a laps* of three days racing will be resumed Wednesday with the opening of beautiful Long Branch Park. This seven-day meeting will bring to a close the spring season of racing for Toronto, over the mile courses. Traclc superintendent Tom Clark has the lake shore course looking its prettiest, and many improvements have been made since the close last autumn. Everything is in readiness for the opening, and indications point to one of the most successful meetings ever staged at Long Branch Park. Form students have had two weeks to get a line on the various thoroughbreds that will be in action at Long Branch, and this will tend for a week of formful racing. Hardly a day has gone by during the last two weeks that the track has not been rolled until now it is faster than at any other time. The racing strip still retains that soft cushion that has been so desirable to horsemen, despite the considerable amount of work done on it. The condition book has been so arranged that it is well filled and evenly matched. Never before has there been so many high class performers quartered at the track. The handicaps throughout the week should furnish some of the most thrilling sport seen locally this spring, with such horses to draw from as Luggage, Eager Play, Boya Howdy, Soil Gills, Rubio, Storm, Sun Hatter, Judge Bartlett. Black Patricia, Butter John, Solace, Meridian Queen, Berber, Bad News Bob, Khorasan, Blimp, Red Briar, Spanish and many others. »
