DENEMARK HORSES RESTING Easter Boy, Josephine D. and Hogans Dance Turned Out on Farm — Burning Up, Derby Hope. HOMEWOOD, 111.. June 2.— Mrs. Emil Denemark has turned out Hogans Dance, Easter Boy and Josephine D. They are gamboling in a paddock on the Denemark Stock Farm south of Chicago. They will be raced In Chicago later this season. In an adjoin Ing paddock is Blackwood, which is holding court there. His blood lines equal any in the American stud book. Blackwood is a son of Black Toney — Rosewood, by Magneto. His second dam was Rose Tree II., dam of the incomparable Roamer, holder of the American mile record against time. The mark, l:344i, was made at Saratoga, August 21, 1918. Dick Watts, who trains Burning Up for the Denemarks, is giving this fast performer special training for the Latonia Derby, over one mile and a half, to be run Saturday, June 27. Burning Up, son of Black Toney — Beach Talk, by Sundridge, is bred on top like Blackwood. Below his breeding is like Major Lanphiers dark horse for the American Derby. When Burning Up defeated a horse like Pittsburgher, his stock went up and Mr. Denemark has been chuckling over the bargain he drove when he obtained him. Another bargain he made applies to Blackwood. He paid eleven one-thousand dollar bills for him and the horse enriched him to the extent of 0,000 in stakes.
