v 1 ,- Prominent Louisiana Derby Rivals ; Clash in Post Parade Purse Today at Fair Grounds Sazerac Top Weight and Probable Favorite NEW ORLEANS, La., March 14. With the 0,000 added Louisiana Derby topping the closing Fair Grounds program Saturday, activities of the three-year-olds during the interim will be closely watched. Over the week-end the aspirants for Derby laurels furnished much of interest and tomorrow the attention of enthusiasts and those connected with the camps of the various hopefuls will be focused upon the Post Parade Purse, at one mile, in which some of the leading candidates will meet. This is the final pre-Derby clash of some of the most formidable of the Derby challengers, and bringing together, as it will, such as A. B. Letelliers Sazerac, E. R. Bradleys Bertjohn and Bengal Tiger, J. J. Robinsons Renaissance, S. W. Labrots Springsteel, J. Leiters Princess Camelia and Prince Hotspur, and P. C. Thompsons Crystal Prince, the result should prove of great value in calculating the probable outcome of Saturdays race. Over the Post Parade mile, Sazerac, which is making a stalwart bid for the post of favoritism Saturday, will carrp top weight of 115 pounds, three more than Renaissance and five more than Bertjohn. Springsteel is in nicely with 107 pounds, and Crystal Prince, Bengal Tiger and Prince Hotspur carry 106 pounds each. Princess Camelia, lone filly among the eight entered, will be thoroughly tested with 105 pounds up. This morning trainer N. K. Beal put Princess Camelia and Prince Hotspur through final training for the race, sending each a half mile over the fast track. They worked in company and running along on even terms and .under restraint throughout went the distance in :50", handily. William Hurley sent Bengal Tiger a handy mile, for which he was timed in 1:46, handily, and had Bertjohn cover three-eighths in :36, nicely in hand. Bengal Tiger was timed in :50 for the half mile and in 1:18 for the three-quarters. The first work of any consequence by J. J. Robinsons Lucky Tom since his return from Hialeah Park, where he failed badly in the Florida Derby, featured Sundays training session. Trainer H. C. Riddle indulged the son of Master Charlie with a mile gallop at a brisk pace and he well impressed by covering the distance over a good track in 1:45, handily. He got over the first half mile in :51 and the three-quarters in 1:18. Riddle announced that his program for Continued on tioenty-second page. Trainer Tommy Taylor decided against bringing the half brother of Mike Hall on lor the race, shipping into Churchill Downs from Mirm several days ago.
