SPANISH PLAY NOW 4 TO 1 AGUA CALIENTE, Mexico, March 14 When word of Spanish Plays victory in the New Orleans Handicap reached the track Zeke Caress, head of the future book, sent out his erasers and dropped the animal from six to four to one in price. Spanish Play was shipped west Saturday and never before has a horse a thousand miles away from the scene of action been such a short price. Should Spanish Play unload in good condition and take an impressive exercise gallop he will likely be a very short price before post time for the event. Alexander Pantages, which bowed a tendon on Sunday, was withdrawn from the big race today. He came in for considerable play before his accident but after the mishap his price mounted steadily until he was 50 to 1 this morning. It is doubtful if Alexander Pantages will ever race again.
