OFF-DAY AT NEW YORK NEW YORK, N. Y., March 14 Today was an off-day on the New York tracks, and few fast trials were recorded. At Belmont Park in particular, little work was accomplished, open gallops being given most of the horses. Jamaica also was quiet. Trainer L. Strube galloped Don Pedro at a mile at a two-minute clip, while Robert Boyle had the Geneseo Stable horses canter at a slow pace. Arthur Dudley also sent his racers on the track but no speed was required of them. More activity was noted at Aqueduct. The bay filly Hisko, which is being trained by William Murry for J. Koi-vula, worked three furlongs in :37 handily, while Salarha breezed half a mile around the lower turn in :37. Other trials were Single Brig, three furlongs in :384, Starpex three furlongs in :38 handily, The Afghan, half a mile in :53 breezing, and Little Aventor an equal distance in :52 breezing. James Pitzsimmons breezed some of his juveniles three furlongs in :39.
