TWELVE IN COLLINS STABLE Tom Sanford in Charge as Master of Thistle Farms Active String of Eacers. LOUISVILLE, Ky., March 14. Tom Sanford has in his charge the most pretentious string of thoroughbreds he has made preparation to campaign in years. The horses of George Collins, of Thistle Farm, near Frankfort, are his biggest band for any one owner, numbering twelve head, divided equally between older horses and two-year-olds. Sanford has his old employers horses, Sambo Brown and Sis Agnes, which raced for the Brown Hotel Stable in his care. The Collins older stock embraces the ten-year-old Shark, Shasta Lad, Thistle Arious, Thistle Joe, Thistle Vic and. Thistle Spot. Thistle Ace, which is racing in Cuba with others of the Collins horses, is the Derby eligible from this stable and will be turned over to Sanford on reaching the Downs after the Oriental Park meeting closes. The two-year-olds are Thistle Girl, chestnut filly, by Baigneur Stellas Shadow; Thistle Tot, bay filly, by Old Slip Thistle Baby; Thistle Bee, bay filly, by Fataud Elizabeth Gertrude; Thistle Play, bay colt, by My Play Lucinda; Thistle Tom, chestnut gelding, by Chilhowee Even Money, and Thistle Wise, chestnut colt, by Wise Counsellor Thistle Flo. These youngsters are home-bred and one of the best looking bands as far as individuality is concerned that the master of Thistle Farm has ever had prepared for racing. Weather conditions showed no improvement over the week end and training operations at the Downs and Douglas Park may not be resumed to any appreciable extent until next week.
