I AGUA CALIENTE NOTES T George Luckey, owner of a small stable, died of heart failure at the track Saturday. Friends took charge of the body. The horses of the Midnight Follies stable will be sold at auction in the near future. C. B. Irwin will preside at the sale and will ask for bids on Shaver, Dapper, Mary Ream, Van Ettisch, Ruth C, Cerasus Lady and others. A new high was reached in the Agua Caliente daily double Sunday when the combination of Prancing Step, winner of the third race, and Scimitar, winner of the fifth race, paid 43.20. Prancing Step was a field horse. It was announced that the Agua Caliente Handicap, which will be decided next Sunday, would be broadcast by short wave length to Australia. George W. Schilling will preside at the microphone. It is possible that the candidates for the big race will be saddled in the infield. Funeral services for Mrs. Walter H. Dupee, were held in San Diego on Saturday morning. Among the prominent race track folk attending were James W. Coffroth, Francis P. Dunne, George W. Schilling, L. J. Rose, Thomas P. Gorman, Eugene Normile, Francis Nelson, Harry Pollock, George J. Miller, Al Morgan and Miss Dorothy Klaus. William Bush, former assistant trainer for the La Brea stable, has purchased Spanish Light from J. B. McGinn. Phar Lap was on the track between the fourth and fifth races Sunday. He worked with colors up and jockey Billy Elliott in the saddle. Phar Lap was jogged five furlongs and breezed from the three-eighths pole to the stand. Jockey Guy De Peso, who was suspended some time ago, was restored to good stand ing by the stewards Saturday. Morshion, which was recently claimed by John D. Spreckels, Jr., broke down badly in his last start and will be out of training some time.
