j LOUISVILLE TURF NOTES W. G. Sparks has received three additions to his string at the Downs in the three-year-old filly Clean Clipper, and a two-year-old bay colt, Spike, by Axenstein, from Immodest, owned and bred by Willard Wilson, of Birmingham, Ala., whose farm is at Franklin, Tenn. Frank Podesta sent Sparks the two-year-old bay filly, Podeshan, by Chief Uncas. Mr. Podesta is a business man of Memphis, Tenn. Jockey Carl Meyer reported to trainer Tommy Taylor of the Mrs. E. L. Swikard stable at the Downs on his return from New Orleans. Jockey J. W. Frye rejoined the stable of his employer, Albert Sabath, on his return from Cuba. Dr. F. F. Brant has reserved eight stalls at the Downs for horses he is shipping from Florida, and Asa Harned has decided to await more favorable weather conditions in Louisville before sending his string to the Downs. George Ogle has stalls reserved at Louisville for Trombone, Prince Tokalon,. Fort Dearborn and others of hi ; string, which are racing in Florida.
