WIDENER HORSES AT BELMONT NEW YORK, N. Y., March 16 Thirty-five horses belonging to Joseph E. Widener, one of the leading American patrons of the turf, arrived at Belmont Park yesterday from their winter quarters at Elmendorf Farm, Kentucky. The shipment, which was in charge of the veteran trainer Henry Mc-Daniel, and composed of twenty-four juveniles and eleven older campaigners, came in first-class condition. The only complaint McDaniel had to offer was the severe cold which ruled at the Nassau County plant. The horses are quartered in their owners two private barns and form the major part of the largest stable he has raced in years. Most of the older racers are thriving particularly well, while the juveniles are the finest looking band of youngsters that have come from Elmendorf in three years.
