SCHOOL TANFORAN JUVENILES Bark Gate in Use Daily Educating Young Racers for Coming Meeting at Course. SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., March 16. There will be plenty of home-bred two-year-olds in the racing to begin at Tanforan the last day of this month. Colts and fillies from nurseries in the San Francisco bay region have been at the San Bruno plant since the wind-up of the winter period of sport and have made satisfactory progress in their education as racers. The Bahr gate is in position on the training course and schooling of the youngsters is going on each morning. Assistant starter Eddie Thomas, of the Harry Morrissey staff, an adept at teaching babies the accepted way of breaking from a stall, is in charge. John W. Marchbank has the largest string of. young runners, with "Charlie" Hartwell in second place. The Marchbank two-year-olds were bred at Heather Farm, the foaling place of numerous well known performers on the important tracks of the country. This band promises to be the best ever sent out of the Contra Costa -county haras.
