GEORGE SOUTH S HAND INJURED CRETE, 111., Sept. 6. It developed today that apprentice George South sustained a possible fracture of the left hand when ho was thrown by Bay Angon while at the barrier for the fifth race Monday. An X-ray of the injured hand was to be taken today. South came, here a few days ago from Dade Park and was among the best of the younger riders. His services were in big demand and he was scheduled to ride in five of todays races before the seriousness of the injury was determined.
