LEADING AMERICAN JOCKEYS Silvio Coucci, who passed all rivals for jockey leadership a short time ago, drew away last week by riding five winners and after last Mondays racing, which is included in the tabulation below, he was five winners ahead of J. Gilbert and H. Mills, who were tied for second place. Coucci had ridden 150 winners, 120 second and 124 thirds, leading all jockeys in thirds as well as in firsts and coming within three of tying Mills in seconds. His percentage is only one point below that of Gilbert and G. Elston and two points below that of Mills. M. Lewis had a good week with six winners, but the leader in last weeks performances was D. Meade, who rode eleven winners and came within one winning mount of totaling 100 for the year. Others that fared well last week were L. Humphries, with seven; C. King, with five, and G.
