1 TIM0NIUM TRACK NOTES S - : s Bill Passmore, contract rider for James Healey, Sr., was an arrival from Saratoga Springs. He will likely accept his first mount in the Robert M. Taylor Memorial Steeplechase tomorrow. He can do 135 pounds. Jockeys H. Louman and L. Craver were arrivals from Canada, their books, as well as those of R. Watson and E. Unkraut are being made by A. Sands. Pat Remillard, whose riding featured last . weeks racing at Marlboro and who booted a trio of his mounts into the winners circle yesterday, announces that he will take in the Hagerstown meeting, which opens a week from today. There is a report in circulation that if Remillard continues his present fine riding he will be tendered a contract by Sylvester W. Labrot of Annapolis, for whom he formerly rode. He has won two races recently for Labrot with Monel and also beat the Marylands sportsmans Tinge, while astride General Lejeune. Baker Waters is acting as the Maryland Racing Commission official steward here. He also filled a similar role during the recent Marlboro meeting. Jarvis Spencer, Jr., one of the three members of the Maryland Racing Commission, is on the job daily. He is ever on the lookout to keep the sport in this state on a high place and, regardless of weather conditions, he can be found wherever the thoroughbreds are racing. General manager Daiger tendered a buffet luncheoa to horsemen at noon today in the pari-mutuel ring. This is an annual affair and helps bring the horsemen and members of the Maryland State Fair and Agricultural Society closer together. Eddie and Willie Ball of Baltimore, considered two of this countrys best steeplechase riders, are on the grounds and will swing into action tomorrow.
