T BLUE BONNETS NOTES t s Crofter, the smart juvenile owned by Donat Raymond, and Acajou, both of which are engaged for the Grey Stakes to be decided at Woodbine Park, Toronto, will be placed into severe training for that stake engagement, along with other important juvenile fixtures that are to be decided at Thorncliffe Park and Woodbine. Trainer P. Delaney was in charge of the Raymond string and is certain that the pair measures up with other nominees and will ship the entire outfit to the Toronto course at the conclusion of racing Saturday. T. Rowe took over the duty of starter for the remainder of the Montreal Jockey Club meeting. Clem McCarthy, well known columnist of the New York Morning Telegraph, and well known for his broadcasting of the Kentucky Derby and other turf fixtures, was a visitor at Blue Bonnets Labor Day. For the convenience of patrons the Mon-.real Jockey Club secured co-operation for the meeting to utilize the new Decarle Boulevard that adjoins the Blue Bonnets course. This new boulevard recently completed, aids traffic considerably and avoids congestion. William Walsh, who is handling the W. T. Trenholme stable, is considering retiring the good seven-year-old, Ella Rufus, after the season ends on Saturday at Blue Bonnets. Ella Rufus, should she be retired, will be bred to one of the leading sires in Canada. The next meeting of the Canadian Racing Association will take place .Saturday in Toronto. Several important items are down for consideration by the governing body and several important rulings are likely to be handed down. David S. Gillies, J. J. Farrell and D. A. Boyle, officials of the Canadian Racing Asso- ciation will be absent from the final days racing at Blue Bonnets, which is necessitated by a confliction with the opening of the Thorncliffe Park meeting. Oregon Fir, owned by Mrs. W. V. Casey, was excused from fulfilling his engagement in the seventh race by the stewards. The apprentice allowance was waived on Princess Pat Coventry in Tuesdays second race and that racer picked up five pounds additional weight. Joe McClymon, who is handling a division of the Joseph Cattarinich racers, is scheduled to leave for Fairmount Park at the conclusion of the Montreal Jockey Club meeting. Harry Guy Bedwell, master of Yarrow Brae Farms in Savage, Md., was an interested spectator at Blue Bonnets.
