1 FORT ERIE TURF NOTES t j s M. J. Scarborough, arrived with the racers, General Mixup and Lady Olambala. W. T. St. Clair, who recently entered the owners ranks, was an arrival from Montreal with his good sprinter, Flying Sailor. W. G. Wilson has taken over the good sprinter, Ladfield, which races for Mrs. C. Crane. Ladfield will be prepared for fall racing in the Dominion. Trainer T. Walch has shipped the horses owned by Mrs. F. Merrill to London, OnL, where they will be turned out to be freshened up. Platinum Blonde, a member of that stable, has been turned over to J. O. Burttschell to train. C. Hastings has taken over Georgia Lily to train for the D. and D. Stable. John P. Turner will depart for Devonshire Park after the closing of entries at Fort Erie Thursday. Turner will act as racing secretary at the Diamond D course, which opens next Saturday, August 19. The Niagara Racing Association decided upon a change in the "Daily Double" form of wagering and the new method went into operation on opening day. The new system calls for the double combining the first and second race, instead of the first and third, as used previously.
