MRS F C MARS JUVENILES JUVENILESMilky Milky Way Farm Stable Owns Band Bandof of Most Promising Young YoungRace Race Horses LOUISVILLE Ky May 5 Twoyearolds of today Derby eligibles of tomorrow long has been the way a great number of train ¬ ers have viewed the yearly crop of juveniles Visitors here for the sixtieth Kentucky Derby Saturday might see the 1935 winner under colors in the twoyearold race raceIn In all probability the Milky Way Farm Stable of Mrs F C Mars will have an entry in the juvenile race and not that Mrs Mars has any more chance of furnishing next years Derby winner than a hundred or more owners who have twoyearolds racing this season but inasmuch as the Milky Way Farm Stable is one of the latest additions to racing it is used as an example exampleLast Last summer the late F C Mars pur ¬ chased twenty yearlings from A B Hancock They were shipped to the Milky Way Farm a palatial 3000acre establishment at Pulaski Tenn John S Stewart who had handled show horses for Mr Mars was put in charge of the thoroughbreds and today he has eighteen of them quartered at Douglas Park Mr Mars died about a month ago from a lingering illness contracted shortly after he purchased the thoroughbreds Believing that it was Mr Mars wish that she continue to campaign the stable Mrs Mars instructed trainer Stewart to go right along with the horses horsesIncluded Included in the stable are sons and daugh ¬ ters of horses that have either won the Ken ¬ tucky Derby or made Derby history The youngsters are the get of such illustrious sires as Gallant Fox the 1930 winner Toro which finished third to Reigh Count in 1928 Black Servant which finished second to Behave Yourself his stablemate in 1921 Sir Gallahad III sire of Gallant Fox American Flag a son of Man o War which begat Clyde Van Dusen the 1929 winner and others othersThe The twoyearolds named by trainer Stew ¬ art are The Persian Galladay Blue Ar ¬ mor Whiskalo Canusse Hold Fire Where away South Gallant Last Servant Leelari ous Evening Gown Meddling Highland Rose Gallerne Diavoless Cheerus Girl in Armor and Irksome IrksomeMrs Mrs Mars although managing the large Milky Way Farm calls Chicago her home At the conclusion of the Churchill Downs meeting the Milky Way Stable will be shipped to Washington Park
