DARK SECRET was rated along under steady restraint, but failed under pressure in the final eighth. FLEAM, well up all the way; had no mishaps. HALCYON had no excuses. The latter came through on the inside into the stretch, but tired after taking a short lead. XANDRA went to the outside of the leaders in the drive. REGO, close up early, dropped back, but came again, only to swerve in the closing sixteenth. BANNACH LATH closed a gap. PALATINE quit badly after three-quarters.
