I 1 ARLINGTON PARK NOTES • 6 Mr. and Mrs. William F. Hitt of Washington have arrived for their annual stay of several weeks. Mrs. Hitt ownj the horses racing here in charge of Thomas Rodrock. Miss Mary Hirsch was an arrival from New York and will be with her brother, W. J. Hirsch, for the duration of the meeting. She advised that her father, Max Hirsch, planned to send several other members of his stable here later in the meeting. Good Gamble, owned by Morton I* Schwartz and a candidate for Saturdays running of the Arlington Lassie Stakes, arrived from New York Tuesday in the car that brought the Belair Studs Jovius and Vicaress Trend was scratched by the stewards from the second race Tuesday when he was late in arriving at the paddock, and his trainer, Milton Rieser, was fined 0. To prevent repetition of the happening in the turf race Tuesday, in which three horses ran off the course near the far turn, a rail fence has been extended along the course for fifty yards. Jockey L. Balaski, who rode Strait Jacket in that race, explained to the stewards that the horse suddenly bolted off the course, taking Grayback with him, and that Single Stripe followed them out. B. Moots will arrive Friday from Fair-mount Park with Doctor Happy, Kite and Too Late.
