The mjtuel pool on the original sixth race Tuesday was approximately 1,000, and when the race had its official run-off the total was slightly over 3,000. Jockey J. Hunter came up from New York to pilot Collateral in the Independence Day Handicap for C. V. Whitney. Jockey J. Hanrahan has joinei. forces with the stable of Mrs. John Hay Whitney, which is being campaigned at Rockingham Park . by W. J. Norton.
