FAIR ROCHESTER outclassed his company, was reserved to the stretch, then came around the leaders with a rush to take command and won in hand. SMUGGLED IN had speed from the start, rushed to the lead, continued gamely to the sixteenth post, where he gave way to the winner, but easily held LITTLE BUBBLES safe. The latter improved her position gradually and closed gamely. WISE CROSS, a keen factor for live eighths, weakened in the drive. MISS CAREFUL, on the inside most of the way, forced the pace for a quarter, dropped back on the turn, then came again under strong riding. SKY LAD went evenly in a good performance. ALLTOI closed a gap under weak handling. CUT OUT finished strongly. DEWHURST was outrun. BLACK PETER, prominent for half a mile, was caught in close quarters in the stretch. WHITE TOP tired. CAREFUL KITTY, badly ridden and sent around the leaders to take the lead, lost ground entering the stretch and tired. ABSTAIN had early speed. SUN WORSHIP quit.
