1 EMPIRE CITY TURF NOTES | , « $ ; . A record for Empire City was established Monday, when eight horses changed hands 5 via the claiming route. They were Carlaro, Infinitate, Village Vamp, Apprehensive, Scotch Gold, Xandra, Airline and Scotch J Soldier. Jockey J. Rosen was suspended for five , days by the starter for disobedience at the post. Alfred Johnson was among the arrivals and is on the lookout for racing material. E. C. Smith returned from Syracuse and . resumed his duties in the judges stand. W. H. Denham arrived from Montreal in quest of racing material. Ollie Gore of the Miami Jockey Club official family was a visitor of the day. He reported , | that already much is being done at Hialeah Park and that the track will be s brought to perfection for any horsemen who have an intention of making an early shipment. He said that training could begin over r the strip at least as early as November. Plans for the next season at the beautiful j Florida course contemplate even better racing than has ever before been offered.
