WATERSET was not hurried for a quarter, then moved up leaving the back stretch and, going to the outside of the leaders in the stretch, closed with a rush and won going away. STRETCH CALL moved up fast near the stretch and, wearing down THE HEATHEN, showed in front, but was not good enough THE HEATHEN took the lead near the far turn, but was unable to maintain his advantage through the stretch when punished. MERRY CHATTER, outrun to the final quarter, went to the outside in the stretch and, closing with a rush, wore down WILROB in the final strides and won going away. WILROB shook off MACADAM and appeared all over the winner a sixteenth out, but was unable to keep pace when challenged. INFORMAL went well placed throughout and continued gamely in the drive. MACADAM had good speed all the way. but tired in the closing three sixteenths. HAPPY SCOT was not a serious factor. MORNING MAIL, was saved close to the early pace, responded gamely to punishment in the stretch and, wearing down ENTHUSIAM, won in the closing strides. The latter was rated along in front and held on gamely. GRANDPAS BOY forced the pace throughout and held on stubbornly. TOOLBOX moved up fast after starting slowly.
