SIS AGNES, outrun for half a mile, responded gamely to punishment, but was overmatched. INFINITY tired under punishment. MONKS BELA showed good form under strong riding. BROOMSHOT quit. HOMER L., never far back, went to the front when urged, withstood a long drive and outlasted ANNAN under superior riding. The latter was a keen factor from the start and closed gamely. TAR WATER moved up strongly after half a mile, challenged gamely and closed resolutely. NORMAN D. had no mishaps. OR-LATTA, apparently in need of racing, showed good form. ALMA S. dropped out of it early. PAT C, badly messed about in the early stages, met further interference in the late stages. TERRY ROSE had early speed.
