t DETROIT TURF NOtES s s J. Tommy Taylor notified the Detroit management that he was shipping Mrs. S. B. Masons Sun Portland here from Aurora. Joe McGraw, acting for the Motor City Stable, purchased the contract thai Joe Hos-kins held on apprentice Jose Gonzales. The lad rode during the Oriental Park meeting and is a native of Marianao, Cuba. Judge Joseph A. Murphy, director of racing, received a request for fourteen stalls for the E. F. Seagram stable. He also received the nominations of Stand Pat, for the ,000 added Col. Alger Memorial Handicap and SanTan for the St. Clair Stakes. In addition to Paradisical, winner of the Kentucky Oaks, A. Miller brought Elwawa, Flag Wave, Empress Wu, Laird, Bushmas-ter, Hastemond, Sun Good and Chance Line for I. J. Collins, a member of the Ohio racing commission. Sergeant A. Swenke, whose horses proceeded him here from Dallas, arrived from that point, Friday morning. Headed by Ted Clark, which Dr. C. N. Mooney claimed here last summer, C. A. Marone unloaded the useful and well-balanced stable he is training for several owners. Others that Marone brought from Churchill Downs are Verde Grey, Flo M., Our Carolyne, Glynna, Hoosiers Pride, Donday, Fingal, Respect, Pretty Monk and Pretty Cathy. The rule which gives the stewards the right to place a horse in the event of a disqualification, will be used here again this year. This rule was adopted here last summer and proved very popular.
