THOMPSON ESCAPES INJURY SAN BRUNO, Calif., May 24. Jockey V. Thompson, who rode Tanforan in the second race Thursday, was not injured and rode out his afternoons engagements. Apprentice P. Savage, rider of Lazy Lad, was taken to the Mills Memorial Hospital, San Mateo, for examination. Tanforan, a bay gelding by Boh Homme Bear Trap, which broke his leg when he fell rounding the first turn in the second race, was destroyed on the main track soon after the running of that event.
