1 BELMONT PARK NOTES 9 $ Several Suburban Handicap candidates were out for exercise on the main track at Belmont Park course in the early hours, even though Friday is usually an off day for workouts. J. H. Stotler sent A. G. Van-derbilts Discovery over the Suburban distance of a mile and a quarter in 2:06, handily. James Healy sent Mrs. John H. Whitneys Singing Wood a mile and a furlong in 1:54. Clyde Phillips worked W. R. Goes Ladys-man a mile and a quarter in 2:07. Pompeys Pillar showed the fastest work of the morn-ing for a mile, covering the distance in 1:38. The A. G. Vanderbilt stable will shoot three barrels against Cavalcade in the Suburban. Stotler announced that Identify was being shipped "back from Rockingham Park and would start, along with Discovery, and the mare Hindu Queen, recently purchased, along with Good Gamble. Catalogs for the sale of horses in training to be held Saturday were distributed by E. J. Tranter. Trainer Bill Brennan stated that, should Gillie, winner of the Santa Anita Derby, race to expectations in the Withers, he will be shipped to Detroit for that Derby. Jockey Litzenberger accepted, his first mount since the first part of the Jamaica meeting. He was on the shelf with a broken hand. At private terms, Mrs. Ethel Ameht purchased from J. Woods Garth the two-year-old Bright Flame. W. T. Anderson reported that the ten horses which were shiped to him from Kentucky arrived at Aqueduct in good condition. Jockey Silvio Coucci will ride the Green-tree Stables Plat Eye in the Withers on Saturday. "Even though Cavalcade was beaten after getting away to a bad break, I had one consolation," said Bob Smith. "There were more people out in the paddock to have a look at him than had been out to see any other horse since Man o War." Smith was pleased to report that Cavalcade was in fine shape after his initial race of the season and has no fears of the result in the Suburban next Thursday. Friends of young A. G. Vanderbilt were joking him Thursday over having shown more enthusiasm when he won a wager of on Curtain Call in the steeplechase Wednesday at 30 to 1 than when he won a Btake with Good Gamble on Tuesday
