Transmutable, speedy son of Transmute and Chicki, changed hands yesterday when OttoBagley, representing the Old Gold Stable, paid Mrs. J. C. Gillem 0,000 for the colt. Successful in the only two starts of his career, Trans-mutable impressed Bagley so much that he lost no time making his offer and taking an option on the horse. R. C. Gillem, who developed the horse for his mother, said he was the fastest horse he ever trained and seemed rather sad when he had to part with his charge, but the offer was so alluring that Mrs. Gillem just had to sell. While Trans-mutable has not beaten any performers of consequence, he has displayed tremendous speed in his engagements, and won both of them in a decisive manner. His last Victory witnessed him breaking the track record of five and one-half furlongs, when he negotiated the distance In 1:04 at Aurora:
