TROPICAL USED WAITE CAMERA Manager Frank D. Schuyler Declares Another Company Was Given Permission to Experiment. MIAMI, Fla., April 1. The camera finish device, invented by Charles M. Waite, has been used to assist placing judges at Tropical Park during the current meeting, though another camera device has been permitted to experiment on the grounds, declared Frank D. Schuyler, general manager of the Gables Racing Association, today. Schuyler declared that the speed in which the Waite movie type camera produced prints and its consistent results have been a great aid to the Tropical Park placing judges. The Waite camera finish device has .been accepted for the Pimlico and Havre de Grace meetings in Maryland. Col. Al Sabath is dickering with Waite for its use at Hawthorne, while Julius Reeder has wired for two outfits to be used at tracks on the Pacific Coast and in Canada. Colonel Matt Winn, through Charles Wiedecamp, has investigated the Waite device for use on the American Turf Associations tracks.
