EARTH SHAKER, outrun for three-eighths, gained steadily thereafter, came to the inside for the drive and, iucky to find ample racing room, wore down the leaders and won in the final stages. GOFORTH, a. strong contender throughout, held on gamely, but could not withstand the winner. EDDIE HELCKjprofnl-nent from the start, held on with good courage after forcing the pace most of the way. STEPONIT miished resolutely. MAHI could not keep up. TOMBEREAU quit. IMA DREAMER showed nothing. HELL DIVER was far back from the start. AT POST 1 minutes. Start god and slow. Won driving; second and third the same. RED BASIL, outrun for three-eighths, came steadily thereafter, wore down the leaders and won in the final stages. B BARON improved his position gradually, closed gamely, but could not resist the winner. ANTE BELLUM sprinted into a commanding lead early, but tired in the stretch. TIDE TIME gave a good performance under a hustling ride. NYACK had no excuse. TITLE OAK tired after taking command. INA DEAR, cleverly handled, was taken in hand while forcing the pace, moved up in the stretch, took command, then held sway under mild pressure. PETER PEPPER rushed to the front early, set the pace under slight restraint, responded gamely to strong riding, but could not repulse the winner. WILLOW WOOD, prominent throughout, closed gamely, but apparently needed the race and will improve. LADY THATCHER finished strongly under pressure. GRANDMAS BOY was outrun. RAPPAREE could not keep up. JADAAN, under reserve early, responded gamely to strong pressure, but was no match for the winner. PLAYMASTER, away in stride, set a fast early pace, gave way when challenged, then held on gamely in the drive. HARVEY G. .0. failed to be dangerous under severe punishment.
