LUCKY COLOR, away slowly and forced to lose ground when improving his position, swerved to the inside entering the stretch and outfinished ROUGH CREEK. The latter took command under hustling tactics, gave way to ORTHODOX, saved ground after reaching the stretch, wore ORTHODOX down in the last eighth. Lut failed to withstand the winner. PHALAZETTA, first under way and in close quarters early, was shuffled back at the stretch turn, responded fast when clear and was fast gaining on the leaders at the end. UVALDE closed with a rush. TRANSPORT, going in its best form and well up from the start, improved its position fast after five-sixteenths, responded to strong urging after reaching the stretch, wore LA JUNTA WHITE down in the last eighth and won with something left. The latter sprinted into a clear lead early, was put to strong handling vhen threatened, but tired in the last stages. TRANSEN forced the early pace under good handling, was pinched back at the far turn, was sent to the outside thereafter and finished strongly. ALBANE raced wide and had a rough trip. BOURBON ROSE, outrun early, bore out after improving her position, but came fast yrhen clear. MYRTLE BROOKS made up ground. POLY ROYAL and COYA were forced wide entering the stretch. KHAMSEEN moved up fast after three-sixteenths, drew away rapidly after reaching the lead, but gave way fast in the last stages. WISE ANN took command under hustling tactics, saved ground throughout and held on well. THE DARB, outrun for a half mile, made up ground in the drive. THE PELICAN had a rough trip.
