PLANS PAWTUCKET CAMPAIGN. A. G. Tarn, Countrys Leading Trainer, Shipping Big String to Nar-ragansett Park Track. PAWTUCKET, R. I., April 1. A. G. Tarn, the clever Canadian trainer who heads the trainers winning list thus far this season and who will ship his powerful string to Narragansett Park immediately following the closing of Arlington Downs, Texas, on April 28, brings to New England, the most capable string of middle and lower clas3 thoroughbreds in the country. Tarn carries no dead wood, and every horse in his barn is a potential winner. The white and purple silks here, as elsewhere, will quickly attract a large and loyal following. This highly popular Winnipeg man will ship some twenty-eight head of horses, property of himself and the Texas sportsman, W. C. Stroube, headed by Rushaway, hi3 recent purchase from J. E. Widener, a very smart three-year-old which has. won three in a row for Tarn, including the Louisiana Derby. Other horses of the Tarn-Stroube combine that will compel attention are Bay Bubble, Miss Bam, Martin Barton, Broad Meadows, Back Log, Infinitate, Wizard, Blue Day, Swiftsport, Easiest Way, Epernay, Whipper Cracker, Colonel Ed, Bien Fait, Wacoche, Polish Beau, Bronze Saint, Boy Valet, Blessed Event," Court Song and Handy Baggage, a mighty powerful aggregation, and Tarn advises he may still further strengthen his hand before the trek north. Of the three 00 prizes that were awarded the leading trainers in Florida this winter, Tarn won two, finishing second in the other. He is fortunate, too, in having under contract one of the most capable riders in the country in Johnny Longden, who will accompany the stable north and make his first appearance in New England at Narragan-setts opening May 2. Longden was Floridas leading rider, beating out Don Meade for the 00 prize hung up for the leading jockey. Longden rides at 108 pounds, is a capable judge of pace and a powerful finisher. Johnny has lost his apprentice allowance, but his natural ability keeps him at " the top. The Tarn-Stroube-Longden combination will be a welcome addition to the New England racing colony.
